Wo gibt es Informationszentren für Musik, und welche Aufgaben haben sie?

Weltweit gibt es mehr als 50 Informationszentren für Musik, die meisten in Europa. Sie nehmen mit der Bereitstellung von Daten und Fakten zu Musikleben und Musikwirtschaft eine wichtige Vermittlungsfunktion ein. In vielen Ländern übernehmen sie auch Aufgaben als Veranstalter, Exportbüro und Fördereinrichtung und unterstützen Talente in den Bereichen zeitgenössische Musik, Klassik, Jazz und Popularmusik. Das Deutsche Musikinformationszentrum (miz) verzeichnet die Mitglieder der International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC). Neben den in der IAMIC organisierten Zentren werden weitere Einrichtungen gelistet, soweit sie sich mit dem Musikleben ihres Landes befassen.
